Sugar 3 Tablespoons (add more to suit your taste!)
Instructions
Peel orange and wash, peel (optional) and slice apples into quarters.
Place everything in a Slow Cooker.
Add water until the fruit is mostly submerged.
Cook for 6-7 hours on low heat, or 3 hours on high.
Use a large spoon to mash up the cooked fruit, which should be soft at this point.
Let the liquid mash simmer for 1 hour.
Carefully strain the cider with a fine mesh sieve.
Serve warm with a Cinnamon Stick garnish
Tips
Use a variety of apples if possible. Cooking a combination of sweet and tart fruits will create a deep and robust flavor.
Don’t forget the orange! It adds further depth to the flavor profile, blending nicely with the spices.
Looking for something with a little more kick? Chill for an hour before serving, pour over ice with a shot of Jim Beam Bourbon Whiskey! Garnish with a Cinnamon Stick and a slice of fresh apple and enjoy responsibly.
