People Helping People: Hurricane Harvey Relief Initiative
Hurricane Harvey is the first major hurricane to make landfall in the United States since 2005. South East Texas received more than 40 inches of rain within a four day period causing devastating damage throughout the state. According to CNN, at least 37 deaths have been confirmed as a result of the storm, and that number is expected to rise. Rescue efforts continue throughout Houston and the city is billions of dollars of damage caused by the storm.
In times of need, it is of utmost importance that these devastating situations are met with empathy and compassion. People helping people is what it is all about. It is our duty and our desire, as proud Americans, to take action and lend our support and aid to those that need it most. We are the most powerful when we work together, and the Five Pawns family is committed to sending more than love to those affected by Harvey’s devastation. This is not a popularity contest, nor is it a chance to showboat altruism. It's people helping people, and we ask you, our family, to join us in our efforts to help alleviate some of the stress and hopelessness caused by this hurricane.
To our beloved family, our partners, and our ever-loving supporters - let's come together as people and help those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Below we will run a live update of the efforts of those around us. Even if it is just contributing a positive thought, anything and everything can help comfort those in need. Our thoughts are with those affected, and we will continue to do everything we can to lend our support to South East Texas.
If you would like to donate, we have set up a Crowdrise page with all proceeds going to support
The Greater Houston Community Foundation, advised by Sylvester Turner, the Mayor of Houston, Texas. Stay tuned to our official blog and social media pages for updates on efforts as they become available. And as always, thank you for your support.

We're taking a break here in Sugarland, TX to rest up for our final haul tomorrow into Houston. It's been a long day, but people helping people is what it is all about and this simple fact is why all of this effort is worth it.

We made it to Houston! The donations have been delivered safely to The Greater Houston Community Foundation. We are very grateful to have the opportunity to be the vessel of support from the west coast to reach those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Despite a successful trip, it's far from over and it will take time to fully recover from a disaster of this magnitude. If you'd like to learn more about how to contribute, please visit The Greater Houston Community Foundation official website.

Woke up at 5:00 am CST(well, Eddie woke me up because I suck at waking up early), we drove over to Houston, got a little lost looking for the donation center, found the donation center, waited for an hour and watched the sunrise.
In other words: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
